Reclaimed
One of the fun things about working with reclaimed wood is taking a rough,
weathered product and make if flow into a crisp clean environment.
Kilned dried re-sawn and straight one edge barn siding taken off a barn 30 minutes from Lake Wawasee.
The siding found its new home nestled on the east side of one of the largest lakes in Indiana.
We ripped the material to random widths ranging from 4 1/2" to 10".
We used trim nails and adhesive to help stabilize movement of wood.
We ripped down material to build a box frame for barn beams. Notice how we staggered the joints to add rigidity
Next, we applied polyurethane adhesive to the joints to strengthen them.
We then nailed the side to the bottom of beams with 2 1/2" finish nails.
Now it is time to install beam to the ceiling.
Applying reclaimed barn beam skin.
